Non Buick Tranny Question
« on: December 29 2005, 12:31:12 AM »
My 1996 Blazer 4L60E tranny took a shit.  It slips and won't engage into 3rd or 4th.  At first I thought it was the 3-4 clutch pack but it went out very suddenly with out warning.  I have heard they use plastic pistons in the accumulators and they can crack and loose pressure.  I also now have a little TConverter shudder at low rpms.  I have a 700r4 book but it dosent get into the new electronic shit.  Just wondered if anyone else had any problems since these are ubiquitous transmissions and wanted to rule everything out before I dropped it.  I am getting a pressure gauge asap.

Good job on the pressure tester. Have you checked your fluid yet? Pulled off the pan? I don't know dick about the newer trannies, I'm all TH400-350, myself.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.
