I went for a while drinking gin and tonic. A few years. One day I drank almost a whole 750. I get my times where I crave it but when I order one I can barley get it down. I cant stand them anymore. Why do I still crave them but cant stand drinking them?

Maybe you shoul ask "Dear Abby" that question ?  :rofl;

Seriously, nothing beats this for a bar order:

A bone dry Ketel One Vodka Martini, straight up, shaken three times so as not to bruise the booze, strained through a stainless coil, facing the East with two green orbs in suspended animation.

THAT my friends, is the route to Shangri La.

I'm perfectly happy at Shagri-Blah!

A chilled martini glass, rinsed with dry vermouth, excess poured into a shaker with some gin (probably the cheap stuff, knowing my broke ass) and shaken a few times, and then dumped back into the glass. I will agree on the 2 olives.

I like mine extra dirty! I keep it simple..."extra dirty martini"

My problem is that half of it spills out the sides of the glass while I'm drinking it. I chug 'em!

Ahh, a dirty Martini drinker in the midst...

The reason they serve the coveted drink in THAT particular glass is so you don't chug them.

I just noticed that I am member #69.

Now THAT'S cool! heh.

Winston Churchill, an avowed Martini man, didn't like to have the ice touching his Vodka any longer than necessary. He said, and I quote in by best British accent, "I don't like water in my Vodka, as the fish tend to shit in the water"

Chuchill is also credited with the term 'Facing the East'. Vermouth originated in France, which of course, is East of England, so the only semblance of Vermouth he wanted was by 'Facing the East' while mixing. This makes a verrrry dry Martini.

Ok, fine. The next time I drink a Martini I'll do it sophisticated like...In honor of RacerX. Promise! No more chugging. Am I suppost to drink it like a hot cup of coffee?

Do you think Winston Churchill would have changed his mind about the ice now that the world is full of high end bottled water?

If you're gonna drink vodka, it should be done straight
from the bottle. "Devil's Springs" will get you there the quickest !
Stolnichaya (sp ?) tastes best.
