now there is some wierd grinding noise at start up... not initial start up, but when reved to 1500rpms....  something clanging

I hope your not hearing rod or main bearing knock.  Keep an eye on your oil pressure.  Both my TR's fell to rod bearing failure.  It started on the one with a hot rod knock and got worse.  When you change your oil cut the filter open and strech out the paper filter to look for shavings.

If there is anything that I can do to help, let me know, but you know how little I know about these things. You are only a hop, skip, & a jump from Lou's shop. I would drive it down there and see what he thinks. He is not going to fix the motor for free, but i will bet that he will know right away whether you need a motor, or a sensor. Also, can you tell if you are getting real knock or false knock? Let me know if I can help. Might try Morgan, too.

oh oh I forgot to tell you guys the start up noise was a heat shield that fell in between the exhaust manifold and the heads... a big nothing.

Ever check on your motor mounts and see if they are OK?

I might want to change the ESC module cuase I did get a code 42 last week for two days and then it went away.

If it's intermittent, I would think something is loose, like a ground or maybe even the knock sensor itself. Take you knock sensor out and re torque it. Check the grounds on the back of your heads. Take off your torque converter sheild and check the bolts, they may be loose. Check your tranny mount too, as well as the crossmember to body mount.

Tranny mounts good, torque bolts good, crossmember good.  

I still need to check grounds but most look good that I can look at without digging down....

Don't for get the passenger side mount too.  Mine was completely collapsed before I replaced it.

If you changed your tubro, then clean out your IC again. It's probably still full of oil. Seafoam your damn car. I'll do it with you, it's great.

Motor mount on driver side was relaced not to long ago.  Engine does not come up when in gear and power braking.


Now it doesn't start..... cool

If it makes you feel any better, your car is still not nearly as haunted as mine.....I found out why it wasn't starting the other night and now I'm convinced that it's deliberately fucking with me.
