Bought a D5 converter on TB.com.

I let it sit for a month or so - I had/have bigger fish to fry with this build. I had serious concerns using ANY stock converter with my (what I consider) high-dollar trans rebuild - so it wasn't a huge concern for me. I figured I would slap it on my spare trans and use it one day..

Seller swore it was from a stock GN, had only come out once.

So I finally open it Sunday. It's a D6, and one of the mounting bosses is stripped. Yay me.  :013: :013:

What is odd, is that after researching the converter PN and build code on TB.com - it may be a factory GN converter - but with "D6" stamped on it.

The info I got off the converter:
PN 8653420 Code CBCF

I haven't contacted the seller yet, not sure what the point would be - I'm stuck with it now. $85.00 down the tubes methinks..

I would ask GNEric - but he only comes here to look at tits.

and the rebuilt ones are probably stalled for na cars...D5, if original, is probably trashed inside, and if rebuilt, your guess is as good as anyone elses....there are few bargains, but, a lot of disasters waiting to bite

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.
