Satellite Receiver...Nonsense?
« on: August 06 2011, 10:39:43 AM »
I have two satellite receivers in my house. I work 6 days a week...and what little time I have to watch TV, I watch in the basement. To make a long story short, my 21 year old daughter moved back in recently. I told her she could have the upstairs and I'll take the downstairs. I haven't had the upstairs TV on in ages...and she informs me the satellite isn't working. I call up the provider and they tell me because I haven't had it on in ages...that it has to be recalibrated.. .and they can do it over the phone. After screwing around for an hour...he tells me the receiver is fubared and that it's under warranty and he's gonna send me a new one and it'll be here this Wednesday...th at'll be my next rant.  Question I ask you guys to the south...if you leave your receiver off for an extended period of time...do you have to go through this nonsense of having to get it recalibrated each time?
Hard work pays off, dreams come true. Bad times don't last, but BAD GUYS do!

I remember having to call up and have them send a signal to wake mine up a few years ago when I used to be gone for a few months

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

I think the receiver does receive software updates constantly when it is connected.
