So the car cut out on me three times on the way home everytime I hit a good sized bump in the road. When I got home I replaced the kill switch that is on the dark green/white wire at the fuel pump relay (I believe this is the exciter/trigger wire from the ECM to the relay). I did confirm that flicking the switch definitely causes the car to shut down when running.
However, I will have to wait to test this theory as the car decided that its accessory drive belt need to lose some ribs. So now I am on the hunt for quality replacement belt. FML.
