I fuuuugggggggin' posted this update in the wrong thread! Can you tell I have too many cars?

Maybe an admin will be kind enough to move Steve and my posts?

I can't move individual posts to other threads - just open the Monte thread in another tab/window (http://www.ihadav8.com/forum/index.php?topic=3016), click "Modify" on the thread you posted incorrectly, go to the correct thread, reply, and copy and paste into the correct thread. Once you do, I will delete these.

Going to the strip in the morning... about 2 hours away near Montreal. Hopefully the car survives otherwise my racing season is pretty much done for. I suppose I could race the TrailBlazer?

Power Logger files and video to follow... but, it is about friggin' time this car got out of the 12s.

EDIT: I'll be able to explain the slower passes with the files and videos.

Nope not the gears. I am pretty certain it is 20-30% converter slippage... that it was pig rich on the run. THAT and it picked up some MPH when I leaned it out some.

At BPG my 26 lb chip never saw more than 20 lbs (not intentional) I picked up .4 in the 60 with 10% less fuel in the chip. I was quite shocked it affected it that much but it was pig rich & very Hot out. Amazing what some tweaking will do with these cars!
Sounds like you had Fun!!  :atbeer: :atbeer: :atbeer:

Now this is the story all about how,
My life got flipped, turned upside down,
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there,
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air.

No it's not. ;)

Okay here are the PL files:
http://whitetrashdesign.ca/buicktuning/19%20Aug%2012%20Napierville.zip

Run 1 - 11.91 @ 112.24mph
Run 2 - 12.01 @ 112.95mph
Run 3 - 12.24 @ 112.80mph

In your PL config setting the car is using an LC1 WB02, 3 Bar Map, EGT is currently dead, Analog 4 is Pressure 100psi (fuel pressure) and Analog 5 is Correction Factor (from the MAF T Pro). You can set the converter slippage in 3rd & 4th gear to 47.1 (a random number for a TH400) to see the horrible issue I seem to be dealing with here.

The car had a full, and I mean FULL, tank of gas during these runs (there is a Shell station outside the gates where we filled up before entering). I dropped the pressure in the Nitto NT05Rs to 18psi and left them there. I also trigger the launch assist in the chip and set the fans to race-mode (160*F turn on point). Those are the constants. Use Commanded WOT Spark Advance to see the programmed curve in each run.

Run 1. You can see here that the car builds about 8psi on the footbrake and spools to nearly 21psi before it even leave the line! Very weird delay. Took off so hard I almost shit myself. There is a hint of wheel spin between the RPM and VSS readings. That also has to be the most KR I have seen in this car in years (before Run 2 at least). I am slightly convinced the fuel in my tank is a crap batch. You can also see that the Boost is doing some wonky fluctuations.. . almost like it is causing the KR spikes. It is important to note the Boost was set at 25psi, not 30+psi as the PL log is showing. AFR is pig rich regardless, it was set to TAF of 11.5:1 (LOL... lot of good that did).

1191at112mph

Run 2. I pulled 10% fuel for this run and a half degree of timing across the board in hopes of making it speed the car up. It did. However, it also got the car all KR happy. Again the KR oscillates with the boost - wierd. Launched the car softer this time and it still spun causing me to short shift. The car actually shut off on me during my attempt to do a burn out... see video for a laugh - you can see my head roll around in disgust.

1201at113mph

Run 3. Added 5% fuel back in and pulled copious amounts of timing to bring the KR back into line. The car kept the MPH up at the top end after leaving really hard and blowing the tires away at the line thanks to a 10-18psi launch! The KR is more managable and the AFR is closer to 11:1 (God only know what propane and ethanol mixed in there does to a target AFR - I imagine it is like testing for the stoich of troll piss). And 50% converter slippage at the start of 3rd gear?! WTF?!

1224at113mph

Feedback on these and other issues found are very welcome.

If you ever run out of propane and have to rely on alky alone, you will probably pick up half a second if you dial it in

I've been busy monkeying around w/MAFT Pro: http://www.fullthrottletech.com/showthread.php?t=6744 and it is still an ongoing saga. Unfortunately I hit a road block when I noticed my oil vapour catch-can had blown a seal. So I had to rebuild it... this time from scratch... before going back out for more testing.

I hate not having AutoCAD on this computer... so here it is sketched in Photoshop. 3" dia and 6" long; filled with those coarse metal scouring pads from the supermarket - this time it is sealed and not serviceable (not that it should fail internally). I'll take a picture of it when the paint is finished drying.

Natasha and I went to the last cruise night of the year tonight... we really liked what parked next to us. Old school and new school luxo-bruisers.

I am pretty sure we'll have one of these CTS-Vs in the next year.
