Whats the point of a kill switch that only switches one pump?

None.

However, I wired in the kill switch for the primary pump long before I ran a second switch to activate the #2 pump in order to drain the tank. I stopped using the kill switch when I got an anti-theft feature in one of Bob's chips... which is why I forgot that it was even there.

So I called Discount Tire this morning to ammend my order to 275/40/17s as I realized the 255s would be too short. Turns out that they had to cancel my order due to a exclusive Canadian distribution policy for Nitto with a company called Kal Tire.

So I call the local Kal Tire and work out a deal that comes close to the online price I had if I have them do the mounting and balancing. Hang up to confirm my figures, call back and now they are humming and ha-ing on the price they gave me.

If this doesn't work out I am just going to order something else from Discount Tire that they can ship to Canada and take the labour charges somewhere else.

Is waiting for a callback for over 3hrs is fucking unreasonable or what? So I bought some Falken FK-452s in 275/40R17 for $322 to the door from Discount Tire. Clearly not what I wanted with a 300 tread wear rating (vs. 200 for the Nittos), but I had to get something quick due to the flat spots on my rock hard BFGs and my leaving for PowerTour in under a month.

Try http://www.tirerack.com/

Their shipping charges are horrible, plus I end up getting dinged with UPS' surprise bullshit charges. Discount Tire also ships with UPS but includes an up front fee that is paid to UPS; thus no surprises by the time they arrive at the house.

Dave,

I can still get across the border in 1.5hrs via Ogdenburg - but, since Natasha has yet to get her passport renewed I don't care to make the trip alone.

Turns out that the parts store 100" speedo cable (ATP Y816) isn't going to work... should have got the Delco unit (ACDELCO Part # 88959481
CABLE,SPEEDO EXC GEAR ADAPTER; w/4-SPD AUTO TRANS(MW9); FLEX W/CASING, 100.91 IN/2563.11 MM LONG; CC1066).

NOS4GN.com maybe?

If I am a looking for a little victory here it is that the car started instantly (after taking a minute or so to fill the -10 and -6 AN fuel lines), isn't leaking and is running pretty good (idling anyway).

Yeah, I tried ordering from them this morning... tried to add a washer pump to the order, was told they had to recheck shipping, and once again no call back. Kinda pissed.

Just called the local jobber who is going to have to special order it, assuming it is available, and they are supposed to call me back... LOL!

$53.62 taxes in... can have it in 2 days out of Montreal; waiting for another shop to find it as they are closer to my house.

However, depending upon how late Natasha gets to my office tonight I may just take her on a date to the parts store - because I am just that kind of guy...

Odd about the NOS4GN non-callback, they are really aggressive with calls..

Did a little nut and bolt work to the car tonight... like bolting the dash back together.  :rolleyes; Threw some new hardware to hold the airdams on as the pounding from the cones shook them loose last year - nylock nuts for the win! I also nutted the wheels back on and jammed some 1.25" spacers in the front for giggles. It only looks good as the tires will smash the fender lip if I drive over an ant. This could work with some extensive cutting and some GNX flares; or just toss in 3/4" spacers and call it safe. Either way I now know that I can stretch a 275/40 on an 11" wide rim in the front of my car (could have tried the rears on the front too?). Time to start hunting for some wheel barrels.

Pardon the rear ride height the car is waaay low on gas and the axle has been hanging for days.
