Anyone ever use one of these before to vent a gas tank? I've had pressure/boil over issues for years with a full tank and direct sunlight; and just so happen to have one from my old Camaro. Evidently it is a two way fresh air/pressure vent valve.

I've opened up the old return line to act as a secondary vent and enlarged the factory purge line to improve the total volume/flow out of the tank. I hope this solves the issues I have been having, or at least keeps the car from dumping gas on the ground.

I am doing some other minor mods to my double-pumper hanger... I'll post pics tomorrow.

Took a few hours tonight to monkey around with some things.

The first thing I did was braze together a section of 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" steel line; I've since painted it to prevent rust. This gives me a way of connecting the stock vent line, return line (now vented) to the F-body tank vent. I'll be placing the vent up by the filler neck when it comes time to reinstall the gas tank.

I pulled the downpipe tonight after MUCH struggling just to find the wastegate puck bent, as in not even close to sealing. I've managed to bang it back into sorts. If I find that the puck has been out of sorts for the last 10 years and contributing to my slow-spool issue I am going to have a litter of kittens.

Lastly you can see the mods to the hanger to (hopefully) aid in venting.

Just ordered up some submersible 3/8" rubber fuel line from Gates  (P/N 27097) - $35 for a foot! Help me, Jebus!

Beats having a blow-out; and it is better than the swollen line I found in the tank when I pulled the hanger - yikes!

Got it for $26 out the door... it helps to go into a store in uniform. ;)

The gas tank is back in with the new vent run; both pumps turn on so this is good news. I still have to pressure test the system to ensure that my work is good. I now know this was a good idea because the old rubber lines were badly dry rotted and cracked when I pulled them out.

Suspension is now greased, and differential is refilled with GM 80w-90 (plus a some Irving HDH gear oil I had laying around: http://www.coastalbp.com/uploads/file/pdfs/Irving/Infotech_en/5.%20Manual%20Transmission-%20Industrial%20Gear%20Oils%20%285%29/HDH%2024may2010.pdf) and a bottle of GM limited slip juice.

I also spent countless hours yesterday (and fingerprints) planing the header, turbine housing inlet and outlet flanges with a sharpening stone to true them up. They still aren't perfect so I may end up running this gasket (Vibrant P/N 1461): http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1022_1068_1127&products_id=134 It seems to line up perfectly.

After breaking my impact gun - yay for Chinese tools, and subsequently fixing it with parts from an old IR gun that it was a knock off of, I got both the front wheels off to find flat spots on both tires. Which explains the horrible vibration the car developed last August... and here I just thought it was the warped axle. LOL.

Well this sucks a little. The main fuel pump won't prime now, it did yesterday... however if you put power directly to the pump it runs. Fuse? Relay? Oprah? I am recharging the battery to ensure it isn't the culprit, even if I can switch on pump #2 and it runs fine.

Or just don't hit your fuel pump kill switch - which you forgot you installed. Yeah I need fewer cars.
