so we pulled the engine out of the Challenger.... discovered one of the inner fenders was rusted out over a large area and covered with bondo on one side and undercoating on the other.

Then we knocked off the angle iron patches to see what was under them.  Whoever welded them with a stick welder is a worst dirt dauber than me...anyway, this is what we found...I guess I know what the front end was so flexible

Looks like my bud Greg has been to visit you Steve. We don't even let him near a welder of any sort because of the way he screws it up.

That was the typical weak point in em sad to say not sure why.

You have your work cut out for you there.

Had a 72 Dart and in 79 it was like that, actually it broke and fad it fixed was never right after that.

Wow, that looks bad.  

I've seen about 5 '70s Challengers here in the past month...4 running and 1 sitting in a field collecting time.

well, I have done the brakes LOL, but, they don't work very well....I think this car epitomizes the old saying about buying pigs in a poke...

good thing the brakes don't work well - it looks like a hard stop could have folded the k member!
