headers
« on: April 29 2011, 10:08:30 PM »
I noticed today while trying to get some numbers down for my tune that somthing wasnt right. its been getting some serious turbo lag lately so as i checked the headers everything looked ok. i checked the bolts to the turbo and were fine also. but noticed block ring halfway around the flange. its got a pretty decent seperation right there from i guess a not so great weld. they are postons headers, i have had them welded once on the drivers side for the usual cracks. but im woundering yalls opinions on the newer style headers out now. are they worth the money? whos is best and will they not crack like these?

thanks,
Jeremy

The TA headers are reportedly the best.  If you are in the Nines, they might add to performance over the stock set.

If you are looking for performance for the buck, they ain't....on the other hand, if you cannot find a replacement for yours, then I guess they are :)

I have not found too many that stayed happy with chinese copies even if they managed to get them to fit and seal at the beginning

The Poston's name is almost an instant deterrent to anyone these days after what happened when they went under.   You would probably have a hard time giving them away.
