Car Show Pics from 120311

Might take awhile to load depending on your connection.  It was a small, local charity show for a cancer patient.

We're having a large show this Saturday.

If I were you, I'd have rapped on the fender of that Cobra in order to be certain that it's real.

It's far from genuine.  I don't think they came factory equipped with a supercharged twin turbo setup.  The guy that owns it builds kit cars and sells them for a living.

Did you/they raise a good amount of money to help the sufferer of cancer?

Unfortunately, I doubt that they did.  This is a small local car show that is put on by a Grocery Store in their parking lot.  The entry fee is $25 and I don't think there were more than 40 to 50 cars there. They did a number of different raffles of stuff to raise money but even then, there weren't that many spectators either.  They didn't advertise the show good enough, the only reason I knew about it was because I saw the flyer on the grocery store door one day.

This place is chock full of nice old muscle cars, hot rods, vintage cruisers, etc.  The military base is comprised mostly of officers here, and it is a large community for retired officers as well.  So, it's not your average Southern Alabama town...quite a bit of money here.  But they rarely take them out, me included.  If it's not the excuse of work, family, school...then it's all this damn pollen, or the dust from harvesting all these peanuts.

The larger show this Saturday should draw at least 200 to 300 cars.

The Studebaker was my favorite, there sure was a lot of "Black Monte Carlo's", and why were they throwing the Challenger in the dumpster? Nice job, good pics. Sometimes the small shows are the best.

I can't remember why he said he did that.  I'll have to ask him if I see him again.  I've seen him at two shows.  I think he posts on tb.com.
