well, grandma says that in ironic humor, but couple of you didn't get it :idea;
but anyway, lets say comment like that
was made by
me. would i forgive them? yes. forget about it? definetly not, especially with world in the shape its in now.
also to point out i've been to japan a few times, and of all the places in the world i've been... from what i experianced... the people there as a whole are nicer than any other in the world. if you leave your wallet full of money in a hotel room... their gonna chase you down to get it back to you.
grandma? she has differant expericance. she lost family in the attack of pearl harbor. so i guess maybe if i where to try and put myself in her shoes... i can compare it to a stranger i don't know that sneaks up to my (father, mother, sister, brother) and murders one of them for no apperant reason other than to provoke. i could understand the hard to forgive part there. even if you where to "even up the odds" by the same retaliation.
and its also
my opinion that nagisaki and hiroshima don't even up the score. they where costing us lives dearly. and we probably saved way more of their population by doing that vs boots on ground. and also remember that we rebuilt that country afterwards.
whats really really shameful (imo) is that japan is the second behind china in buying up our debt. if i where japan, i'd be demanding that the US starts paying back in big payments
right now!
that'd be another good lesson to learn from grandma and grandpa. this is no lie, neither have never been given anything in their life, and never bought
anything unless they had saved the cash up front to pay for it (including their house)
its kind of sad that I won't be able to say that about myself to the generations behind me
