Busy weekend!
« on: February 21 2011, 09:40:09 AM »
Dinner Friday night at a local pub - killer chicken wings!

Saturday, started off by adjusting the valve lash on the fiancee's Integra. Inspected the front suspension to assay what was needed to be replaced - there's a couple of nasty squeaks coming from it. Looks like new tie rod ends and ball joints at least. It's a 96 with 168k on it, I suppose that's to be expected. We also have a problem with the tires hitting the top of the fenders and wheel wells when a big bump is hit - turns out the schmuck that replace the struts didn't put the bump stops in at the top of the strut - so the struts need to come out, and new bellows and bump stops installed. Did an oil change - sticking with synthetic that got this thing to 168k - expect to get at least 250-300k out of this motor.

Found another oil leak - like KGB's Honda - the oil seal for the distributor shaft is leaking. Found some guides and part info on he web - will order the new seal and rebuild the distributor in the net week or so. I had already replaced the distributor housing oring, oil pan and valve cover gaskets - last oil leak will be tamed. Synthetic is too damn expensive to let it leak out.

Ten started pressure washing the driveway - we get mildew/moss/etc pretty bad here - blasted the worst of it off with the pressure washer (after changing the oil in the pressure washer), and then loaded up about 4.5 gallons of bleach and coated the rest of the driveway and my sidewalks. Let it sit, brushed it in, and lightly rinsed it. This whitened the rest of the concrete, and will retard more moss / mildew growth. Fiancee wasn't tickled with the environmental impact - but meh. The worms didn't like it either. It was surreal, after rinsing, hoards of worms came to the surface, apparently, they don't like chlorine. Relaxed and watched a movie with my love.

Got the fiancee a staghorn fern last weekend. Took a plant hook from Big Lots, cut the bottom off, drilled holes, and used 3" drywall screws to mount it to a huge oak in my front yard. Put the fern in a hanging metal basket lined wit coconut fiber, hung it all up - looks nice!

Sunday was about 5 hours of ATV fun - 5 of us went, grilled out, enjoyed the fresh air, and tore shit up! Came back, cleaned up (Takes forever to get trail dust off skin), again - relaxed with the fiancee and watched a movie.

Sprinkle in some random sex sessions - Life and my weekend is good!

I love meeting board members for the first time. There's always a long akward pause while they stare. Not sure it could be for any reason other than I'm ugly. And I scratch alot.
