I can understand your reaction, I see alot at Cope's Corn near my shop, they do the same thing. Maybe if you come to Lancaster Co. PA, give me a call and I'll warn you of the weird shit here. When I went thru Kansas it seemed like it had just the one hiway going thru it with Steak restaurants, grain elevators, and a prison. Couldn't wait to get to Colo. I don't see how you truck driver's do it.

I see you're driving a Volvo... My Dad drives for Ashley Furniture, he drives a Volvo also. Seems to like the fully automatic transmission after 30 years of grinding the gears.

Aren't Swift trucks governed on speed like Schnieders orange road cones??

Most of them have been shut down by the safety freaks in recent years.

Hey...I resemble that remark!

Ok a little harsh.

I like safety too, but also some common sense.

Talking safety I've run a moble crane 28 years. The bull shit we have to go through  just to set up and make a lift on a job site have so greatly changed it's almost unbeliveable.y ou have to have a prelift meeting with distances. working load limits, degree calulations of boom angle. max lift  capasity, persentage of max capasity of the crane per lift.I get tickled these young educated collage safety guys have know idea of the actual operation of the crane just what they have read.I allways tell them the only thing they need to know is about that one main lever.they say what lever is that? I say leave her alone.

I remember watching Smokey and the Bandit and asking my dad "Is that what its like when you go to work?" And he says "Yep, Every week!"

I then went on a long trip with him... Not once did we have a guy running blocker for a trailer full of furniture    :D  :D

Governed at 62 mph? They should change the name of the company to something other than "Swift". Of course, Ashley's rig's are governed at 67 mph. When Dad got his recent truck, they forgot to do the programming to govern it. He made 3 trips before they caught up to him.

For DCEPTCN,

Here's a photo of my Dad's latest rig. It was given to him when he surpassed his 2 million miles of Safe Driving.

When your special, you get your truck with all the stainless steel trim, and the lettering on the sleeper in silver.
