Tell me, Mr. Dot Connector- what good to the second ammendment argument is done by attemtping to rile up nuts in the hopes that they act irresponsibly and make the worst possible case for gun owners? There is no group more full of hate-filled ideology than the left, and that ideology is, more often than not, the direct result of incessant media and blog-driven propaganda. Be that as it may, if some left-wing wacko were to go on a right-wing shooting spree, would it be appropriate to blame said actions on the propaganda, or would it be better, and indeed more logical, to lay blame where it should be lain, i.e. on the inability of a mentally ill shooter to assimilate and differentiate between fantasy and reality?

We cannot make laws and establish broad characterizati ons based on the actions of a lunatic minority, no matter how heinous their actions may be. To invoke Sarah Palin's name, bring up the tea party, or cut and paste various condemnable quotes, and in doing so attempt to cast some sort of right-wing bogeyman as the villains in this, or pretend that they are somehow responsible for the actions of a madman, is simply laughable.

 Such a thoughtless and hate-driven politically motivated agenda says much more about the mindset of the left than I ever could. While personally gravitating more toward the libertarian view of things, rather than either the conservative or liberal side, it has always been my observation that modern liberalism is, unfortunately, heavily based upon blame, hatred, and distrust,while it eschews solutions and logical thought.

It is truly a shame that many out there are, and will be, more than willing to make martyrs out of the tragic victims of a tragic act, and at the same time decry hatred, while actively and vociferously engaging in the very thing that they decry.

Sometimes, it's better to simply lay the blame where it belongs.

For the sake of argument, lets say some impressionable teenager that grows up listening to Rahowa or Screwdriver gets arrested for a hate crime. Jeez, I wonder where he got that idea? Sure, he was probably troubled to begin with, but why throw kerosine on the fire?  We've got freedom of speech up here, but we can't say anything that incites hate. I think it's a good trade off.
And north of the 49th, you'd have to make a pretty strong argument why you need a SPAS 12, AR15 or SKS for hunting moose.  Let alone going to a picnic straped.
It's a cultural difference.  I had to have my engine rebuilt in Baton Rouge LA back in 2003, which I stayed in a creeped out motel on Airline Hwy. The machinist at Factory Engine offered to lend me his pistol, God Bless em.  I passed, but slept with my buck knife and baseball bat beside me.
