whats your daily?

Geez...I wish I got 23-25 on the highway in my GN.

After my Dad passed away in '06, and drove the car home from Vegas to LA mostly stick, with only a hollow cat and a Kenne Bell "ram air", I got 31 MPG.

After putting in a real fuelp pump and doing the basic upgrades, I now get 19 or so in 99% highway driving.

Sucks.

That's at 70+Mph, (included Ky and Tenn hills.)

I suspect just slowing down to ~60 (and smooth driving)  would make a significant difference.

I thought about a tdi - but they demand a premium, or have almost 300k on them.

I really don't need anything - work is 6 miles away, and I can get a months worth of driving on a tank in the truck. Once I get the bird back together - I'll drive that, hopefully it still gets decent mileage.

How much do you really save on gas though? Enough to justify a new car and/or car payment?

Reminds me, I gots to put the rub strip back on the new door too....

Way to wear out the wife's car, dude.

I need to take off the other rub strips. I do not like them.

Heck, I am not wearing out the car, I am slowly rebuilding it.

The wife likes to drive it too.

What is a car payment, pay cash and you do not have to justify it.

But for arguments sake, I am spending $150 a week in gas driving the GN. Luckily I am carpooling and only drive every other week.

If I can get 25+ MPG out of the GN, I would save about $40 a week.
