Drum brake issue

I seldom drive the 69 - 442 but when I do, the right front wheel will not turn.
Once I drag it some, it become unfrozen and works OK.
Fix?

I have the same problem with mine. If I drive it three times a year I'm lucky. I did both cylinders, brake hoses,  and spring kits and it still does it. I was thinking the amount of metal in the replacement shoes since asbestos was banned makes them rust fast to the drum. I tried to get new drums, just for shits and giggles, but they all are like the Chev., not the flaring on the outboard side. I was also considering disc brake conversion but there goes the "all original" part of my car.

Your right, but like I mentioned earlier, I did both of mine a it didn't cure it. It is a frustrating issue to have. If I drive mine bout an hour or so in moderate stop and go traffic, it starts pulling like a bitch. I hope he fixes his and than hopefully the same thing fixes mine. I really think asbestos shoes would cure it.

I did the hoses as well.
I might try new cylinder as this never did it before but it maybe it is the shoes.
Bet it has been 15 years or more since the last brake job.

Check the leading and trailing of the shoes, I have seen them incorrect . . . hence shoe grabs

Make sure your self adjusters are installed correctly and or not frozen. If the car is rarely used take them all off and get manual adjusters with new spring sets Also what AJ said is real common. Seen many with 2 primary shoes on one side..
