***Here is an update on this garage***** Well, thought everything was going well with the roof, since Bryan has let it sit because of working so much and vacation to Fla, the beams in the roof are starting to sag.

he should be using  truss type rafters, they normally won't sag,
I'm no expert,  but  thats the best type for strength.
yes, I know, its always MORE MONEY!

Ouch. Sorry to hear that Donna.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

Thanks, kind of depressed about it. Makes me sick looking at it. Now it is suppose to rain for the next few days again. All that time and $$ and sweat Bryan and my father put into it. It just SUCKS. Maybe Bryan will post the last pictures took a few weeks back.

I do not think it is that bad, hard to explain but it should be ok. We will find out when the rain stops and I can put some more time in it. Yes, it is stick built and not trusses. It is a hip roof, if this does not work out it will become a truss built gable in a hurry. At least I will have some firewood for a year or so.

You could leave the roof rafters in place and just 'sister' some new lumber along side the old lumber.  Might be the same expense (more or less) but should save some time.

AND THEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, COVER IT AND ROOF IT!

I want to hire someone, but that is was one of the problems when we started it, we had contracters out here to give us a quote, but they would leave after looking over our land and how big it was and they would never call back. (We dont think a garage is not that big)
