Top Speed wants an update, Top Speed gets an update...

The car has been blocked and primed and should be going into the paint booth Monday.  I am still undecided about the paint scheme....

I am down to solid black OR black with blue ghost flames.

April 3, 2008 12:30 PST...

The body of the car is painted.  I am awaiting the arrival of some bumper fillers and a new front grille and then the small parts get shot.  Final assembly with all new weather stripping will be next week sometime.

Thanks.  I am really happy with the way it turned out (so far).  The pictures just don't do it justice.  The subtlety of the flames is perfect.  The way he gradiented (sp?) blue, purple, and silver is awesome.  :prayer:

Look closely at the Grand National Badge.   :yawinkle:  :cool; It is actually air brushed on the car.  :bigeyes; I took my original badges down to them with pictures off of gnttype.org for correct location and a 20 year old kid air brushed them on!

I have had to order all new weather stripping for the car, new front grille, new trunk bump stops, bumper fillers (front and back), and the antenna escutcheon.  The bumper fillers literally disintegrated when they were removed.

G Body Parts supplied most of the parts to restore.  They have been great to deal with.  :supz:

I will be putting 17" rims and tires on.  Once we get the car on the ground again I will get some shots of the QA-1 install and the Paul Ferry Sway Bar.

Most of the parts are on a truck coming this way, so depending upon their arrival I am guessing the car should be completely done in about two weeks.  They are taking the rubber trim off the bumpers and the bumper guards off and filling the holes to give those a cleaner look.

Stay tuned...
