Been a while...
« on: September 21 2007, 02:40:37 AM »
well guys it been along time since i have even touched the buick... but since me and my gf of one year just had a horrible break up and i am slowly recovering  :sad; . i found myself woundering what life was like b4 her. then i remembered what i left behind. she has been rotting away on me and is in need of some HELLA work. but the motor is still out, interior still decorating my room, and parts still hogging the garage at my dads. soooo with that said, im looking for a job again to get some $ back up to do her right. its the only thing that has ever helped me move on. just driving her calms me down, sadly she isnt running. but i am gonna rebuild her top to bottom, no girls will tear me away for a while this time i hope.

plans:
custom interior parts
new carpet, new seats, new headliner (way over due)
suspension, and install my posi rear that i got about 6 months ago.
replace all the cracking lines, and gay steel lines with braided steel.
get the rust off the roof and prime it for the time being.
replace radiator

i will try to get as much done while im still in tech school. but after that, if i go off to souther polly tech as i hope too. i have a friend in atl that is gonna store it for me and help me with some of the complicated stuff while im doin this living at college thing. any tips/tricks, or recomendations on parts and stuff would be great since i havent been keeping myself updated on newer parts dealers. im hoping for a 10-11 sec daily driver.  :supz:  i will post the embarasing pics of what i have let her turn into soon. it feels good to be back.

btw anyone got stuff for sale? new/used, let me know. im looking for alot of stuff.

Sorry to hear about the GF..but better now than later..
For the rust, if it's not to bad you can clean it up and seal it with out replacing the pans.

Naw, rust is like a cancer. Slice out the infected part and weld in a patch. I'd strip the paint off the surrounding area to make sure there's no rust below the paint too. Check out POR-15 products, I think they have anti-rust primer.

POR-15 is good stuff. I had to replace my drivers side floor pan, but it
was alot more than some small holes. The carpet was about all that kept
your feet in the cah.

dang, right before we moved down here last year, we had a whole floor pan "clean" from a GN but could not take with us and could not get rid of it for anything.
