Fo Sho'- all speed and no soul makes Jack a dull boy. You're preaching to the choir about SRV. He got his speed influence from Lonnie Mack and his soul from Hendrix. I've said many times that I taught myself on 'The Sky Is Crying' and 'Vulgar Display Of Power'. The reason that I play 11's is because I read SRV's biography 'Caught In The Crossfire' when I was 17 and marched right down to the guitar shop demanding a set of 13's....all they had was 11's, so I took them. Also, I found out from a Fear Factory guitar tech at an FF show that the album was all recorded tuned to C...nevermind that 11's two steps down make a Floyd Rose sit perfectly...re member how I was playing 'Little Wing' at Robert's place in Vegas and you said 'Good, now play the rythym' and I told I couldn't? 'Cause I learned SRV's version....but you've forced me to come around and learn the respect for the badass Mr. Hendrix.... fault admitted.
