Someone in this clip found a Dodge Monaco to replicate the Bluesmobile (did a great job I must say!) and reenacted many of the driving scenes from the movie. And yes, that IS the same mall that they used for the movie. It was scheduled to be close and demolished before the making of the original film in '80, but they allowed the film crews to shoot the mall scene there first (with a bunch of stunt people of course). Funny thing is (according to the blog accompanied with this footage)... the mall had been abandoned for years until its demolishion within the last year. Thus, the opportunity for these guys to have some fun!
I thought it strange to see a mall that was abandoned, let alone for that length of time.
