New best ET...
« on: December 07 2006, 12:59:21 AM »
Went to No Problem Raceway last nite and had a new best.  I changed the MAF, put on a test pipe, changed wires and the coil pack since my last trip (13.925@98).

60ft    1.859
330     5.395
1/8      8.396@81.86
1000   11.042
1/4      13.301@99.68

Not bad but not the mph I was looking for,  heard test pipes were worth a couple of mph.  Remember this is  a TTA on stock tires (no dr's).  Mixed a little 110 with 93 octane.  The only "mods" to the car are listed in my sig except for the test pipe.

Thats nearly identical to what my GN runs. You'll far surpass that with some tuning.

Nice... mine runs the same 1/8th, add 10 tenths and take away a couple mph!

I don't know what boost I'm running (the stock gauge says 15 but they suck!).  I just got my boost gauge in yesterday along with an AFPR.  I don't have an adjustable wastegate yet, who sells these???? Preferably not the whole wastegate unless thats a better way to go??  PS The next time I go I'm going to try to go to Gulfport Drags should I let you know :question; ?

stock boost is like 14.2 or something. gbodyparts.com probably has the best prices plus Brians cool. also check kirbansperform ance.com or johnsperforman ce.com

Yeah, let me know. If it's not cold and I'm not working I'll show up.

If you're going to replace the wastegate actuator, buy the heavy duty unit.
They withstand higher boost levels better. Especially if you should ever decide to get alky.

Oh yeah, it's a TTA. Duh. TTA's stock boost is 16.5!!??! Is that why there faster from the factory? Why can your stock engine be at 16.5 and GN's would probably knock?

And doesnt a HD wastegate actuator start at 19#'s of boost? I remember taking mine off when I pulled the engine...switc hed it to a regular one cause I didnt want to start out at 19#'s.

I've had mine as low as 15#. I've had it as high as 23.5#.
The GN seems to like 22# best
