If you receivedthis photo you have to admit it is nothing short ofamazing at how industrious this family of rodentsmust have been to relocate over 40 pounds of candyunder the hood of that low mileage GNX.That is what the owner removed that he could seevisibly and who knows how much more is stuffed in thefenders, air box etc.
RODENTS AT WORKWith fall weather approaching in parts of the country,it means faster Turbo Regals and also putting your prideand joy away for the winter months. I know I havewritten about this before and some of the tricks Iemploy to keep the rodents at bay. Like theftdeterrents do not count on just one single thing. Keepin mind any device that relies on smell such as mothballs or dryer sheets means after 2-3 months yourcar will take on that smell for sometime to come.Traps are nice, the sound devices you plug in anoutlet that only rodents can hear is another optionand having 2-3 cats on hand is another option.Personally that is one option I have. Two outside/inside cats in my buildings. My son and his familywho live next door also have two outside cats one ofwhich has a very strong killer instinct. Frombutterflies to snakes this cat makes no distinction.Over the years on cars I have bought I have seenresidue, nesting material, nuts whatever under thehood pads, under the intake or stuff in the air boxso solid it made the car run poorly.I got a call last week from a long time customer whohas a GNX with just under 600 actual miles on it.Owned it over the last 10 plus years. He had it in astorage place in another state and basically did notcheck on it over the last year. He also had anothercar stored in the same location a Monte Carlo SS. Iam not sure if he knew or not but also stored in thebuilding was the surplus candy from one candy vendorand the surplus boxes from a cookie/snack vendor.You can't imagine in your mind the end results whenyou add rodents to the mix. I did not believe ituntil he emailed me pictures. Keep in mind this was a600 mile original GNX.When he opened the hood, it was packed solid withcandy. He literally removed (wearing gloves) almost50lbs. of candy that he could visibly see to remove.The next step is the entire front end of the car hasto come off and every open area in the inner fender,air box, you name it, has been stuffed with candy! Ihave never seen so much destruction by rodents. Hedoesn
I think Kirban is wrong, rats didnt infest the car, the Easter Bunny did!
Even if I had it and didn't have the time to check on it, I knowI could rely on you guys 'n' gals to watch over it for me. Might be tough prying Sylvan away from it though. It'd be like the kid in the episode of South Park with the porno tape (backdoor sluts 9)where they were playing Lord of the Rings. "My precious, My precious !" :rofl;
