I am guessing it is there to connect to the anti theft trunk switch

Is the little cable wire that comes out of white connector supposed to connect to something, and if so what?

Have no idea. My car with the trunk release is up and the air and the lift is blocked by my son's wagon. Neither of my cars have a theft deterrent system.
