Torque Converter Lock-up speed
« on: March 28 2020, 12:14:00 PM »
I have been driving my car lately after replacing my broken bumper fillers and notice that the torque converter is locking up at 70 mph.  It seems a little high for me driving unless at interstate speeds.  I believe the stock lock up speed is 48 mph.  Does anyone have any opinions for what speed might be best for street driving?

A bit above where it shifts into of at light throttle. Think mine is set around 45

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

45 is what Eric's chips are normally set at.  Don't know what I was thinking when I ordered that chip!

70 is pretty fast. I would go 55-60mph as that thing locking and unlocking in mid speeds is annoying to me . I just want it to lock once we get cruising on the hwy.
