Need Quick Help On Launching A Stocker!

This is one of the locals who actually listens...and he's coming out with me tonite. This is a fresh engine from JB Racing that Dan installed. It's bone stock and will be running 94 Sunoco tonite at the stock boost level. Chip and injectors are new from Eric...AFPR...
boost gauge...SM. It was a peg leg and it now has a posi in it. Rear sway bar is stock...but it has air bags. I'm handcuffed...c
uz he informed me he's using 26 inch TA radials. I need help with a tire pressure to run and what pressure to run in the air bags. Stock turbo...stock convertor. The track will be empty...so I'll have plenty of practice runs with it. I don't think it has line lock. I'm unsure of the shocks he's running at all 4 corners. I'm gonna have him run it WFO till the 1/8th...and get out of it...and check the 02's. I'm gonna sit in the passenger seat and watch the SM for KR. If all's well, I'll let him run it through the 1/4. Fuel pump is new with a hotwire kit. Fuel supply should be fine. Open to suggestions to launch it.

NOT more than 5 psi launches. Already they will be up in smoke.

any track prep? As you know I don't have good tires either. If no prep I'd guess you will be lucky to leave with much more than 1-2 lbs of boost. If there is some sticky put down mine would hook 3-4 lb launches before I started adding upgrades

I would bring it up against the converter to take the slack out of the drivetrain, and on the last yellow flat foot it. Chances are it will be laggy enough for the first 60' it won't roast the tires, but will have good momentum. As for tire pressure (assuming the rubber isn't hockey puck hard) I would do a short burnout in the parking lot to see if the tires are cupping or over inflated, adjust the pressure until the contact patch is black across the board. No need for John Force burnouts - other than for fun of course!

Don did pretty well tonite...with a tire smoking 13.5x at 104x. High gear 02's were pig rich in the 870's.

Larry, he got there late...and I was busy with the BS with my car. I watched all 3 of his runs. 13.8, 13.6 and 13.5. He races a 6 second snowmoblie in the 1/8th during the winter that runs 135 MPH on the big end. Don knows how to 'pedal' a car. He had it down cold by the third run.

It has decent mph for a stock unit. With traction it will do 13.0s. Maybe he had a good time and will spring for some tires to hook it up.
