Power And Ground For WB

Wheres the best place to grab 12 volts and to ground the WB.

Brad, there's two spots on the fuse block that you can use.  I think they're marked ignition. Single female terminal. I use the one bolt just above the e-brake for ground

the best ground is either the engine block or the battery.  On one car, I drilled a hole thru the firewall and installed a bolt.  I hooked the ground up to this bolt under the dash and under the hood, I connected a ground strap to the engine from the same bolt.

The ign terminal should work ok for power.  On my AFX, I think I connected power to a switched ignition source under the hood and the ground to the battery ground where it connects to the inner fender.

The problem I have had in the past with using the switched 12v source at the fuseblock is there are a finite number of connections to draw from.  I would add a 30/40A relay triggered by of the switched source, then you can run upto 3 10A circuits off this using direct power off the battery.  Ensure you run an inline fuse; and yes where possible ground to the battery or engine - don't count on underdash connections.

Pulling the DP Tuesday in the AM and having the bung welded in. Gonna reinstall it in the eveining and wire it Wednesday morning. Hotter than hell up here...so I'm doing everything when it's cool.

Removed the DP from the car this morning...had the bung welded in...and reinstalled the DP. Gonna wire it tonite when it cools out there. Thanks for everyones input.

The PDF file for this WB says it draws a max of 3 amps...so I'm gonna install a 5amp in line fuse.


Question...wil l this WB read correctly at ALL throttle positions?

It should....it is not heat and pressure sensitive like nb sensors

Thanks Steve. I found a 3 amp fuse...so I used that. I hung it in the air for a few minutes as directed...and dialed it till it says CAL. I'm to kill the power...wait till it cools...and then install it. Fire it up...and it should read...correct?

yep...pretty simple...takes a few seconds to warm up and start reading actual A/F.
