Excessive Shifter movement

Hi All,
It's been awhile since I have been on this great site since I was painting our house, and remodeling the kitchen. Now we are waiting for our appliances to come in.
At least now I can continue to work on my TR, but I do have a question for you guys. How to you eliminate the excessive movement on the shifter? Keep in mine the cable is brand new and the video explains my problem.
Thanks for for help and ideas to my situation

About the only thing I could recommend is trying another cable. It's been my experience with cable linkage that there is always going to be slight bit of slop on a cable inside a shield unless you can put tension on the cable. I have never seen anything automotive that has turnbuckles allowing for you to tension the cable. It's usually done on cables that have straight run or is routed with pulleys

How true if only it was made like the TV Detent cable
I got this spare cable from Highway Star and as one Member claimed Highway Star had some issue with the cable at one point and remove from his inventory.
In about 2 weeks I'm going to get another cable from Kirban and I will post the results. Thanks

I got a shifter cable from Kirbans a few years back...and it was too short...wouldn't go into low gear.

You claimed Kirban's cable was too short, yet I just email his company and having the eye to eye measurement is 26"
I did this on Ebay and this seller has the Transmission Shift cable eye to eye measurement of 25-3/4"
I checked my original cable of 92,000 miles and the eye to eye measurement is also 25-3/4"
Did you know what your cable measurement is?

No idea...tossed it and found a stocker from a local. Their crossover pipe didn't fit either.
