Found some pix
« on: February 20 2016, 02:16:30 PM »

Positrac still working.

Turn the ramps backward for more room to work when swapping trans.

Found an old one. That is my GS in the foreground. Thats me in the blue shirt. This was probably from '89 or so.

If you haven't blown one off and gone to thicker ones, you aren't trying very hard.

That squeaking sound doesn't fix itself.

If you haven't replaced yours I bet it needs it. I didn't realize how much until I did the trans swap.

A Hemmings pic. I'm liking it.

Cool.  Is that you in the red Magnum PI shirt or the blue Magnum PI shirt?  Love the sign!

I'm in the blue one. The guy in the red is a good friend of mine. I've known him since meeting at the GS nationals in 1988 or 89. He came up and asked where in Texas I lived and then if I was interested in being a part of a local Buick club. He had a '72 GS that had a 455 swapped in. It was diplomat blue with a black gut and black vinyl top. It was a super sharp ride. Now he has a grey on grey leather Limited Turbo Regal with WO2 black trim. He lived in Dallas but now resides out south of Abilene. The long hair behind me is my "little" brother. He is about 6'5" and 295 or so now. The other guy on the driver fender is one of my brothers buddies. His parents had money so he had them buy him a Grand National. Not sure what happened to him. Or his car.

To the right is his GS and the uhaul he pulled to the nats full of parts to sell with that GS. This was in the holidome parking lot in the back on the second floor. That is Pat Neil's GNX next to the uhaul. He has passed but was a great guy.

Yeah, I learned a lot for the older  guys. I didn't know it at the time just how much but it sure has helped me to have patience with the younger guys. Many with crazy questions and even crazier solutions to problems they created themselves. I was that young guy back then and those guys(many who have passed on) had the patience to answer my questions with solid answers. I know I am a better person for having listened to them.

Some of those younger guys are my sons friends. I don't like just anyone back in my garage. No one needs to know just what I have back there. I don't want any of it growing legs.

Yeah, my mother loved to take pix. She had a real nice Minolta 35 mm camera. I know it was nice as none of us kids were allows to touch it. Some of those are in the driveway at her house. She still lives there. I did a lot of engine and trans swaps on that sloped driveway. When we look at houses it is one of the high priorities on my list, having a flat driveway. The one we have now has that and the garage around back. Some of my priorities, the wife, not so much .
