Replacing hard trans lines with braided lines?

The hard lines on the GN are pretty bent up. I know I could get the straight - but it's one of the things i hate doing.

Has anyone replaced the hard lines with braided line? Can standard hose be use? Like Fuel line?  I assume heat from the headers may be an issue though.

I never used braided, I use the high pressure hydraulic hose from NAPA for trans and power steering. It's reinforced and marked hydraulic. If your gonna experiment with fuel line, low pressure line doesn't last long, I don't know about the fuel injection high pressure stuff though. It's nothing to see 200-250 psi in a trans, especially in reverse.

Most of the guys I have seen use braided lines ran them inside the frame rail.

My lines have been replaced with braided.
Champion Irons w/T&D roller rockers, TA-61 turbo, 206/206 Comp Cam,  57 lb/hr Siemens Injectors, 3000 stall PTC, PTE Plenum w/RJC Power Plate, 70 mm Accufab Throttle Body, RJC 325 Megacooler, TurboTweak 5.7/ Alky Control w/M1 methanol, 23 psig on the street, Puddn' Power engine, Borla Exhaust

No they are not run in the frame rail.  Extra length was used to keep away from hot parts.  I don't remember about the AN fittings.

AN fittings will be needed, just make sure the lines are rated for the trans fluid and the pressure seen by the lines.
