If I unplug this by the battery can i crank the car over but it wont start? I need to prime new turbo with oil before starting and thought this would work?

Or just disconnect the injector harness and save any settings/memory in your ECM/chip.

Just install the turbo and crank it up...in two seconds it will be supplied with oil.  Being as there is no load on the turbo, and hence, no boost, there is no need to crank the engine over to supply oil to it.  The turbo only works when it is making boost...there is nothing to break in as Paul stated.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.
