And last week's lesson:
Never buy the Canadian-Tire tombstone mounting slug with attached double sided tape.

Hi Dave

Those things from CTC never worked; Dave the super glue is the way to go that they sell. Comes in a plastic tube with a glass vial inside and a brush on the end. Break the vial shake apply to clean glass good to go !

drill a hole thru the windscreen and thru the mount...put a rubber washer on the bolt to avoid cracking the windscreen and insert the bolt thru the screen and the mount...don't over tighten the nut when clamping the mount to the glass.

Do as Steve said but make sure you use a Viton and not Butyl rubber washer. The washer fluid will eat up the Butyl washers.

Hey Ed, I missed your humour at BPG but fully understand how much is on your plate right now. Hopefully next year!  :atbeer:

I bought both at the time. Looked like the factory used some kind of double sided tape
so I was wrongly optimistic.  :O  Have applied the activated glue now, at least I was in the right place and got a replacement from Dennis's junk pile.

Also bought a one of his map light versions.I have not yet decided if I like the looks of it
Ed- did you tap into the vanity mirror circuit for yours?

It's been a long time but I think when I had the headliner down I found a extra wire to power the maplight.  It has no dim but has constant power.
