Has the cam been replaced ? There has been a problem with aftermarket cams
wiping #3 because the lifter bores are a little offset. Enough, that they prevent
the lifters from spinning, and they end up dragging across the cam.
A comp 206 would make an excellent replacement with no adverse effects.
They've since rectified the alignment issue. :supz:

No its the stock cam... but I did replace the valve springs in the summer and I'm sure the seat pressure did the trick.... I do have a stock profile cam that Neal Steward bought for me... I think Wells makes it or Weller or something...

I think I am going to go with one of Lou's jsut so he can garantee the parts... as he said he can only garantee the labor with 'my" cam...  I'll talk to him tomorrow...

Good luck bud. What I'm worried about is where all them cam shavings went. You don't need pieces of cam floating around your oil system. I'd tear it all down, but that's just me. I have a daily driver too, but I wouldn't risk the new cam or motor. Good luck.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

I know me too and Lou stressed that also... so Lou's gonna drop the pan and check the bearings and whiles hes there redue the rear main seal... so we are hoping that since I change my oil every 3 that most of it got caught up in the oil filter and we are good to go.

I agree with you on letting Lou supply the cam. We use the
anology of "bringing your own meat to Mc Donalds".
Can you cook this for me ? Don't blame us if you get sick...
The most susceptable component is probably the turbo itself.
If debris got in there it won't last long.

welll fuck I forgot about the turbo... thats a new unit too just about 3 months old.... if that thing goes bad I will be so fucking pissed.

And I did bring my own meat to Lou... He said lets just use the cam you have as it looks good.

I left it up to him... he made the choice.. ill live with it

Ask him how big you can go and still pass the sniffer test.

Ask Lou about checking the center section of your turbo, or what
his opinion is.
