I think my S-10 may be more haunted than Sylvan's car..........

The title says it all. It has died twice on me this week. Tonight it had
to be towed back to the shop. It intermittently loses power supply to the fuel pump.
Then just as quickly as it dies, it'll start up and run again for an unknown
period of time.

I had that happen to an amp in my trunk. I ripped out my interior trying to chase a short. It turns out the fuse was a littel skinny on the prongs and made and lost contact all the time. Check the easy/cheap fix first. How's your fuel pump ground? Is it wicked rusted?

The problem with my fuel pump not working the other day turned out to be that the wire that runs from the hotwire kit to an ignition slot in the fuse box was loose....I put 'er in there good and snug and problem solved....anyt hing like that a possibkle cause of your problem?

I made a hotwire kit for the S-10. Now it has excellent power
feed to the fuel pump. Hence now there is a new problem. I got
it all hooked up and no fuel pump. BTW, the ground is perfect.
If I push on the sending unit where the connector is, the pump will kick on.
Some of these style fuel pump sender modules will break internally.
The part that sucks is that my cost is about $250.
These sending units are a 1 piece assembly thats made of plastic.

As hard as it is to believe, I think Chevy was able to make an even
bigger piece of shit. I've replaced a countless number of pumps in Chevy
pickups over the years, but I've only replaced one pump in a G body because
it failed. The rest were done for upgrade purposes.
