It's a shame that they will be gone. They gave us so many great products over the years.

Whenever I see an incident of a major company not making the right decisions fold,  I wonder how small middle class  American businesses are supposed to survive.

I think they lost their way after the 60's. Good film and photo processing machines and materials but everything else was mediocre. Had an early digital camera that was crap....

I think what Kodak and your observation brings out is: here is a specialized Co. and they were blindsided by their ignorance and/or stubbordness to not adjust to the changes on the horizon. Alot can be learned by their failure.

It mostly had to do after computers came in strong. Once computer imaging came in and the internet  there were a lot of companies that went under because they didn't pay attention to where things were going. If you remember PAW they had a huge catalog of engine parts as well as complete engines for just about anything you wanted. They're pretty much out of business now because they didn't get everything set up online. You couldn't access the catalog or even buy online.
