« on: December 11 2011, 11:00:39 AM »

Looking at Rock auto - the brass ones say "W/O AC only". The AC ones are all aluminum..

Take a picture of the top, maybe not original.

Make sure to test for electrolisys in the system. It's been a problem with aluminum parts on newer vehicles. It will rot the core if it has more than .2 stray voltage if I remember right.:)

Have you got a plug-n-play answer on how I can check for this?

Racers should be flushing often enough for that to not be an issue Charlie?

Use good antifreeze and keep it fresh on a periodic basis.  Some rmi25 won't hurt either

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Good link Dave. Make sure to check all conections positive or negative to make sure there are no issues. Then check to make sure that they're no issues when the engine isn't running, at start up, and while running. If everything checks out then you should be good. Check it all at least once a year.:)
