"I looked at the sig of Phoneguy when I first started reading this thread. Some pretty good names in that sig. When I saw that projected nose plug, it made me think to myself, where the heck were these guys when the spark plug was picked out? I know if I had supplied an engine to a customer, he would have been asked about the type of usage (even before building the engine) and told what spark plug to start out with.
There are some major balls being dropped here."

Many of the tuners today don't understand the fundamentals..
.they figure blown engines are just part of racing and they have no responsibility
.
Several of those guys have blown many an engine

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Steve, is there that much of an advantage to trimming the ground strap on a bracket car? Do you think you can actually lose time? I understand what their talking about but just wondering about the advantage for the rest of us.

I use the Autolite racing plugs that have the trimmed strap...but, for a bracket car that is not running on the edge, it probably will not make it quicker, but, it may help prevent pre ignition if you are pushing it.
I always worry about preignition on an alky car...our normal single nozzle cars are probably not that close, tho unless you just like to see how far you can push it
