Was having a late lunch at Pappadeaux's in Dallas off I-35 and NW Highway a few years ago when lightning hit a transformer station across the street. It was AWESOME!  :supz:

We had just got our food when it happened. It was early afternoon and the sky was dark due to the weather. It light up the sky in multi colors. You could feel the hair on your arms standing on ends. This happened for about 20 minutes. Wish I had my camera that day ! ! !

About 10 years ago I was at the full serve car wash in Toronto at Bayview & Eglington (for the locals) & a transformer on a hydro pole let go. The BOOM was hard enuf I felt it in my chest & my legs gave out. I was about 100 yards away from it. There was an older lady even closer to it & she just fell down to the ground instantly. people stopped & they called an ambulance for her. That was one of the loudest things I have ever heard. It makes a Jet car at 100 yards sound like a Fart in comparison!
