Code 33
« on: January 01 2011, 02:26:00 PM »
Car was driving fine.  I accelerated and there was a snap sound.  I pulled over opened the hood and there was smoke.  The erg valve connector had fallen against the exhaust manifold and melted. I deleted the egr long ago.  I tried to clear the code, but it came back and the car is faltering and running very poorly.  I cut the melted connector off, thinking it was shorting out, but the code is still there.

Yes, the hoses are fine.  I know code 33 is MAF related, but it seems pretty odd that the egr plug melted and I get a code 33.  When I give it the gas, it wants to die out.

Good call Chris.  I just went out and double-checked, the uppipe hose off of the IC was not connected properly.  Thanks for your help.
