Next up.... Laguna Seca!
« on: September 07 2006, 05:21:47 PM »
Yep, I have been tapped to be Crew Chief once again for the #15 Dodge Viper in the Speed GT World Challenge Series at Laguna Seca. Should be a ton of fun again and just think, I get to be on TV one more time!  :supz:  :rofl;

October 21 and 22 OR one week before Buckethead plays here. I might be too big a Star :cool;  to hang, but I will really try hard to over come that!  :rofl;

You'll be fine. Coincidentally, I'll be at the track this weekend.

I don't know how it happened yet, but somehow they broke the windshield in the scirocco. I have to be at the track at 7:30am to start installing a lexan replacement.

LOL! That's racing my man! No matter how prepared you think you are something pops up.

Speaking of broken windsheilds... one time I am out hauling bananas through T8 at Willow Springs when all of a sudden BANG! and my windsheild is shattered!

I pull in and there is an odd dent in it, right in fornt of me of course...

I tell the track crew they should check the track in 8 for glass and debris. They come back in and hand me a jack pad. You know, one of those rubber pads on the table of the jack! I guess it got stuck from the heat to the underside of the guys car in front of me.

I found out how it happened. The hood wasn't secured while the
car was being trailered to the track. The rest is self explanatory.
There were 5 of us working on the new windshield this morning.
Yesterday it was the original glass VW today its polycarbonite
with supports and all. This morning we started out with a square sheet
and went from there. We missed qualifying, and had to start last as a result.
Ended up finishing second. We also had the faster lap time by 2 tenths.
The car that won usually competes nationally, but showed up for the regional race.
Roger got within 2 seconds of him, but ended up spinning out in turn 10 and stalling
the engine. When he got back in, he quickly got back to second. Unfortunately first
was out of the question at that point. As for the EP car, I think Louie qualified
second. He was in race group 7, and a huge mother of a thunder storm came
through causing them to delay the race until tomorrow at 8:05 am. So it
looks like I have another early morning.

NHIS is in GT4 ? Shweet !  Don't get me started on a video game kick, I
still have a dozen or so unfinished projects. I got word that the studio project
that I'm supposed to be doing will be in 3 weeks. My neighvor who plays keys
and is also in the Army, has been sent to Wisconsin for 3 weeks of computer school.
So we'll be working on that project when he returns.
