FEL-PRO Transmission Pan Gasket

Can I apply silicone on pan for this Fel-Pro gasket, or install it dry?

I have always installed them dry.  If I were using silicone, I would glue the gasket to the transmission instead of the pan.

The gasket you have is fine. No sealer.

Not much choice in gaskets for the transmission. Felpro is what I have used.  One of these days I will change mine again.  They tend to start leaking when the car is not driven much-just like all the other gaskets


72-120 lb-inches of torque.  I think I used to set my wrench to 100 lb-inches
