Thanks to Mark and Jeremy for helping with my site posting.
« on: December 11 2019, 10:07:48 AM »
Jeremy spent the week end unplugging my VortexBuicks site from my current hosting company and installing it on Mark's server.

Mark, I really appreciate your generosity!!  If I can help pay some of your server costs, I will be all too happy to do so.

Jeremy, I know you had better things to do this week end and I appreciate all the efforts you put into unraveling the DNS, getting the domain moved, and getting the site up and running on Mark's server.  I owe you more than one for all the effort you have put into helping me over the past year when I had problems getting things to work!  Not to mention all your efforts on the Board to provide all of us with a better experience.

Thanks Mark and Jeremy!

If the Vortex site goes off I'll probably sell my TR! lol!

Bullnerd, hopefully, when I go off, it will still be around :)

I have always appreciated all of Mark's efforts to provide a neutral site that is not controlled by bullies or vendors.  I watch all the stuff being shoved down owners' throats that is often totally unnecessary.  New guys are fish in the barrel waiting to be shot by the loudest shouter.

Jeremy has been around the Buick scene for a long time but he obviously started a lot younger than I did.  I was 44 in April of 1986 when I bought my GN, but, a lot of us initial buyers were older guys that had a lot of car experience under their belts.  Gnttype was a mailing list and I downloaded it on Compuserve.  It came out daily.  I still think those days were the best of the Buick days before the hobby turned so commercial.

It seems like only yesterday as we old folks say LOL

I was, but had to change hosts, and wasn't sure where I was going to go, in the interim, I referred Steve to a  different host.

Now the link here will go to the same place as the one you type in elsewhere so there will not be two different versions floating around.

I swear it's working faster than it did before.  Jeremy must have bumped the turbo up to a 6265!

Maybe if he complains, I will just send him the site and tell him to get all the colors the same!  I have to wonder why I never used a consistent color scheme.  And, now, I am using another one LOL

That reminds me...   I need to get off my ass and build a site before the years out.

If I'm going to be stuck inside, and can't work on my NECKCAR, might as well set some sort of attainable goal :)

It might be on newer hardware - the software stack was similar.
