Low milage GN for sale

Is it just me or does this thing not look so low milage?  Looks painted, its missing emblems.  Has vac brakes.  I'm thinking this guy has to add a 1 in front of the odometer.

What is amazing according to the description:
Has 13,323 miles on it. I put about 200 miles on with in the last month just enjoying it a little before it goes, but the title was never register.

The first thing that caught my eye was the heater core.  Why is the copper tubing sticking out so much?  It's also missing the air dam.  It doesn't look good in the pictures so I'm sure it would be some what disappointing in person!

This got my attention. A number of things are naturally odd about it. As with any car that age w/low mileage.

First, it is being sold by a body shop. Which is probably the answer to the 200 miles of playing. A lot of high end body shops have dealers licenses and dealers plates. It does not answer for the 13k miles. I would guess, the Carfax should show the last time licensed. A competent body shop would certainly be able to produce a 'ringer', but a Carfax would reflect the donor. The odometer looks legit (in the picture), but the car has probably been painted. I wonder if it has whatever that rough shit is on the lower portion of the car, like mine.

A long time friend was the best body man/painter I have known. He made a living rebuilding late model/low mileage totaled Trans Am's and Z28's. However, they were not 'ringers'.

The weather stripping on the doors is worn out on the top.  The weather stripping on my low milage car is perfect.  Look at the front marker lights.  It looks like rivets(not) but those are not factory screws, really sticks out with a black out package.

That is a much nicer example!  It is very clean.  The only thing that sticks out is the rust on the bottom of the door seams.  The bottom of my doors look brand new.

Without making a judgement, I have found, these old cars age differently.

When I heard about a GNX in a showroom 12 miles from my home, I rode my bike down to have a look. I expected a clone as I have seen more clones then GNX's. Wrong. #247 is still owned by the original owner w/22xx mi. I did not touch it, but did a walk around. It has spent it's entire life in a temp/humidity controlled environment. My GN has 11k and spent the last 22 yrs inside an unheated building.

From what I could see, mine compares favorably. Except, of course, only one is a GNX.

Funny you say that, my car has spent most of it's life in an unheated garage as well.  Still has the original paint and looks decent for it's age.  When I wash it I always make sure to dry every little seam.

I made a habit of buying low mileage original cars, when/where I found them. Some, like my Chevelle, had to be put up on a rack b4 I would buy the story. All had to have a story.

On the subject of paint, modern paint will hold up 10x as well as 60's enamel. a repaint is hard to see in pictures. Most, I think, will tell when they get close. Mine are original.

That is a beautiful car!  I really like the super clean super low milage cars.  I mentioned the patina thing here before and for me I would take a fully restored car before the patina.

We were talking about the difference in pictures vs reality. We were also talking paint.

The Chevelle is a nice original car with a number of people who are waiting for me to sell. The only thing not original is the wheels/tires. It has the original spare.
It also has the original single stage enamel paint, but in reality it is far from 'beautiful'. The picture just does not show it. As with any 55 yr old enamel, imperfections are rising up though the paint. I look for this to accelerate.

It has 45k miles on it. The reason it shines any is because it is acrylic enamel.
