If you went from 26" to a 28" tire, you effectively went to a higher gear and lowered the torque to the ground.  That means it will be harder to spin the tire relatively speaking.  Yet,  you say they were getting blown away at much lower boost.  That is not a torque converter problem and it is not a tire size problem....

Again, I suggest verifying tire pressure with another gauge and trying them again on another surface...mayb e on a warmer day if that comes about.

Bolt em on and head out to your favorite deserted strip of road and lay down some rubber and back to it and see what you can get it to do with different launches. High boost, low boost, no boost, high rpm and some boost, wind it out and let her rip. Then change the pressure and do those things again. Keep a notebook if you are like me so you know where you are.

I've had good experiences with the brand but haven't done the radials so I'm not even sure what they need to hook. That is up to you to find out.
