Power Seat
« on: April 02 2018, 11:55:41 AM »
Looks like my driver's side power seat has given up the ghost.  It sounds like it is stripped out and won't move.  Does anyone know if it is repairable or do I need to source another mechanism?

OK, upon investigation it looks like the little plastic coupling has failed and I ordered a new one.  Hopefully that will work.

If you don't break it, it will!

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Eric sure knew his parts.  I wonder what he is up to these days?

Clean8485 had a heck of a time getting matching motor styles for his Monte. Turbolicker may have some parts around.

This unit here, is for 87s. 86s are pretty much junk. It may be getting late, but all the full size GM front drive models from late 80s thru much of the 90s use this same assembly. Pick one up in the boneyard for under $50. I'm sure they can still be found.

86 EL CAMINO w/ GN drivetrain - NICE!  86 T-TYPE - NICER!  87 GN -- NICEST!
