Power Locks-Not...Quite...All...The...Way...Up
« on: October 11 2017, 10:08:23 AM »
When I hit the power lock button the locks don't quite come all the way up. Remove the door pads and lube everything up?

I'm sure the lube should be step one but aren't door locks adjustable for setting height? I'm going by memory from my old 69 Coronet RT so that's a while back! Maybe I'm thinking about the screw on cap I removed to get the door panel off?   :chin:

I don't recall any adjustments but I don't recall all of yesterday either so take it with a grain of salt.

I do recall pulling the panels off and cleaning the old grease out of the mechanisms and then re-lubing and they worked after that.

Tried that. Haven't used them in the 15 years I've owned the car. Prolly need cleaning/lube. Got time on my hands so I'm gonna start fixing the nit picky stuff.

I use mine all the time, so probably why they work good but ya, once in awhile I have to do a double hit on the button and they pop up then. Maybe just lube them up good and try and get into the habit of using them more often. I hate shit not working! Fixed cig lighter tonight. That was from lack of use I'm sure the lighter was NEVER used and surface rust all on inside. Need it for phone charger.
Pulled the power antenna out finally this summer and installed new cable......wor ks mint now.
