Comp 885 pre-load?

I have the TA rockers & lifters from around 10 years ago & they used to be pretty quiet with Shell 15-40 & excellent Oil pressure but it seems that lately they are louder. I also noticed last weekend I did a quick WOT blast from roughly 60-140 Km in 3rd that took about 2-3 secs. My 210-215 FT cam used to rev to 5950 or 6000 pretty consistently but it hit 6200 this time? My Lifters are the ones that take about 3/4 turn (close to 30 thous) not the 2 thous ones that I think TA called the "R" version back then? Not 100% sure?
I originally cleaned them out really good when brand new so maybe they are getting Dirty? Either that or maybe the pre load has changed but after 10 years who knows so the valve covers need to come off.

Sounds like the pre-load has to be readjusted.  I know hard core racers that set their lifters before every race day.

Preload does have to be adjusted.

I'm pretty sure they need a look see so now it's just convincing myself I want to pull the covers. I have gaskets in the shop but lack the motivation. That job is really hard on my back so my buddy Ray might be getting his hands dirty! 
I asked Full Throttle about the power band on my 210-215 roller & they said it's making good power from 5500-6500 so the 6200 I saw last time out is fine.
