windshield wiper

Running into a conundrum with the windshield wipers. Dr side working. Pass side wont take a full swipe. Leaves out the middle. I bent the arm a bit to give it more tension and tried some different bows and wiper blades but it just does the edges of the wiper blade. I guess the arm has lost tension. Can I change the spring(where is that obtained)? Get a new arm and swap the spring over to the black arm?

I guess since the black OEM arms are $220 a pair at Highway Stars you better substitute from a silver arm.

Wipers have nothing to do with forward acceleration.. .and are a good weight savings...so remove them. Grab a bottle of Rain-X...the bottle will last a year.

I drive mine every day. This means it rains sometimes and there are mornings the dew needs wiped off. Don't think the rainx is gonna be enough.
And no $220 for a pair from nos4gn and another $20-30 to ship ain't gonna make the cut either.
So I guess the anco from rockauto is my best bet at this point. I think I can swap springs or scuff em and hit em with some semi gloss paint.
Anyone else have some ideas?

the trick with RainX is to run a line across the top of the window and let it run down...

...as it gets to the bottom take your hand and smear it all over the glass. You can actually see it soak in and displace crud from the pores.


After a few minutes buff it with a paper towel.


Using that method, fog can condense and run off the windshield.  It also helps cut down on the odds of rock chips too.

Rich are the Silver replacements from Rock Auto the same as what the cars came with or have they changed the style? Nothing wrong with mine but I'm definitely curious about them. Let me know when they arrive. Thanks!

The base is probably broken and it won't stay down hard against the windiheld.  Good look because the drivers sides are common and still available.  Passenger's are no go.
